The Bible calls us to be warriors for God. We understand this better when we live spiritually and have a deep relationship with God. Being a warrior for God does not mean we will fight physically, but it refers to spiritual warfare.
The job of a warrior for God is to keep himself away from temptation, stand firm in the faith, and spread God’s word and love to the world.
In the Bible, we see many people who were known as warriors for God. The young shepherd David was a warrior for God who defeated Goliath and saved Israel. His immense faith in God helped him to do this impossible task.
Another example is Joshua, who led the people of Israel into the Promised Land. He acted as a good warrior and proved by obeying God’s commands that God uses us for His work. From this story, we can learn that when God uses us, He is with us.
To be a warrior for God, we must put on the full armor of God. This armor is the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. When we put on these God-given tools and stand firm in our faith in God, we will fight and win against the forces of evil.
We need to remember that we will never fight against any man but against the powers of darkness. For that, we must always live a prayerful life and depend on God for strength.
