The true test of our character is when no one sees us, but we do what is right. When we live a righteous life in secret, we prove to God that we are truly keeping His commandments and are firm in our faith. It is easy to do good deeds in front of others to get praise, but doing good deeds in secret is the work of children of God.
In the Bible, we also see countless examples where different people chose the path of righteousness without expecting any reward. If we look at the life of Joseph, we see that his brothers sold him into slavery, and later he had to be imprisoned on false charges.
But he never chose the path of revenge, but loved his brothers. God blessed him for his faith in God and his deep focus on doing good deeds.
In the life of Daniel, we see that even when the king commanded him not to bow down to anyone but the king, he stood and prayed to God in private three times a day. He was told that he would be thrown into the lions’ den. Despite this threat, Daniel remained steadfast in his deep faith in God.
From all these stories, we can learn that obeying God is the main task of our lives. We should not do good deeds to get praise from people, but to love God and obey His commandments.
God sees everything, and He reads our hearts. When we do what is right in secret, He rewards us openly. We will always be committed to doing what is right, even when no one is praising us.
